Who handles the advertised care?
Can someone treat me online while I’m in Florida?
Telehealth means care by screen, phone, or another allowed remote method. Ask who will carry out the assessment and how to put questions to them.
Which record do I look for?
As of September 2026, routine telehealth care in Florida may come from a health professional licensed in Florida. A person licensed elsewhere can also qualify by registering with Florida to treat people here remotely.
Under the September 2026 rules, someone already licensed in Florida needs no extra registration for remote care.
Ask for the person’s full name. Ask whether they have a Florida licence or Florida’s permission to provide remote care from another state.
How do I check the out-of-state route?
As of September 2026, Florida’s telehealth law requires a public list of people registered to provide remote care from another state. It includes their licence from that state and other professional details.
The person providing that care must put an easy-to-find link on their website to their Department of Health record.
Use the Florida Department of Health telehealth page to find that list. For someone already licensed in Florida, use the ordinary licence search.
Is remote care held to a different standard?
As of September 2026, Florida law holds telehealth care and its medical records to the standard used for in-person care.
Ask how to arrange any needed examination, tests, and later visits. Ask what happens if a screen visit cannot tell the doctor enough about your health problem.
When travelling, give the service the location you plan to use for the visit. Ask it to confirm that it can provide care there.
